Samhain in Scotland - Photography Workshop

Self-discovery. Body acceptance. Empowerment. Connection. Healing. Femininity. Grounding. Love.

These are just a few of the effects of putting yourself behind a camera and honing the art of self-portraiture.

Our workshops support you with the artistic skills of posing yourself (and others), and composing powerful, fine art self-portraits. You will spend a week in a location surrounded by beautiful nature and equally beautiful, inspiring souls. We will provide you accommodation, some meals, locations, and direct one-on-one guidance and practice with storytelling, creating contrast, using movement and intentionality, analysing light, shapes, and emphasizing interaction and connection. You will come away with new friendships and new knowledge.

"I attended two workshops by Wendy & Karl. And for good reason. Not only did I learn a great deal, but I also discovered whole new sides to my own creativity. Not to mention the friends I made. All in all, I highly recommend it!? - Sylvie, 2024 & 2025 Workshop Participant

Scotland: October 30 - November 6, 2026

Join us for a transformative week in the Scottish Highlands. We'll support you in the art of self-portraiture, helping you bare your soul amidst landscapes plucked straight out of your dreams. Karl and I have spent years exploring these locations and are excited to show you our favourite angles.

Glencoe: Half our adventure takes place in the iconic Glencoe region, where moody mountains and lochs provide the backdrop for soulful self-portraits. Among the golden grasses and leaves, you’ll capture the magic of the season and celebrate Samhain under the mystical Three Sisters. Our cosy granny house is only a 7-minute drive away from the Sisters and the most beautiful locations in the area.

The workshop starts here, days 0-3.

Isle of Skye: The other half of our explorations takes us to the fabled Isle of Skye. Here, we'll explore enchanted glens and towering, fog-shrouded mountains and cliffs. We will be staying with an ocean view in Staffin, between the Storr and the Quirang, two of our most beloved areas. The Quirang is only a 12 minute drive away.

The workshop ends here, days 3-7.

Feed Your Creative Spirit

Throughout the week, you'll practice techniques to elevate your self-portraiture skills, from preparation and composition to emotive posing. You'll befriend likeminded individuals, form treasured memories, and grow as a photographer and as a person.

"[I enjoyed] the possibility to connect with like minded people, everyone sharing and adding their own knowledge and experience, the beautiful locations, the advices and the help, learning new skills, nourishing my creativity and expanding my ideas… The laughs, the shared vulnerability, the energy. Thank you so much Wendy and Karl, you are such lovely humans, and a perfectly complementary team!" - Céline, 2025 workshop participant
