About Us
Hello there, lovely human. I'm Wendy, and beside me often is my husband and assistant Karl.
I am a speech-language pathologist who veered onto a different path to slow down and explore the intimate worlds visible every step of the way. My ikigai is to share the wonder I feel when I observe and create.
You may have arrived here from our Instagram community, where we are united by the mission to peel back the layers smothering the wild within us. We are kindred spirits that prioritize intentional and sustainable living, and the quiet needed to hear our own voices and the voices of the nature around us.
By helping people reconnect with themselves through nature, we hope our art can help foster a world of inner and outer harmony.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
I want to book a photoshoot with you! Will you ever be in my area?
Our current year's locations are on the Book Me page. If you do not see a convenient location listed, it's possible we may be near you in future years; email us! If you'd like to bring us in sooner, we are always happy to travel to you with an additional fee to cover our expenses.
-
Can I come watch you shoot?/Can I come help?
No. During client shoots, we want to be fully focused on the paying client. When I am doing self-portraits or assisted self-portraits, the process is solitary, meditative and internal.
If you would like to learn more about my shoot process, you can see snippets of BTS on my Instagram stories, book mentoring sessions with me, or join a workshop.
-
What preset did you use for a certan image?
There is no simple answer for this as I edit my images on an individual basis. The settings I use on a photo may not work for yours. I do have a free preset in my Freebies section, which is specifically designed for images shot on moody, foggy days. If you'd like to learn more about editing, we can discuss if booking a video session would be helpful.
-
What camera/lens do you use?
I use the Sony A7riii with the Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8 lens, and occasionally a Samyang 85mm f1.4 lens. However, as most photographers agree, the gear is not as important as how you use what you have. Great images have been created with cheaper and simpler setups, creativity, and consistent practice.
-
Can I order a specific image as a print?
Past PrintsYes, I'd be happy to arrange this for most images. Head to Portfolio/Past Prints/2024 Collection for pricing, sizing, and print quality details, then send me an email to request your print.
-
I'm a model, can I shoot with you for free?
Probably not. I dedicate most of my bandwidth to providing high quality work for paid clients.
If you have a specific project in mind and equivalent value to return, send us an email.
-
I've released a new song, can you feature it in an Instagram Reel?
Yes, if we are a good stylistic fit. My rate for using a sponsored sound on a Reel ranges from £250-£350 per post.
-
Can we offer you a free product/service to share about in an Instagram post? Or can we pay you to feature our product/service?
Maybe, only if we are in true alignment. If I already support your company, or you offer something I and the world need, and/or if you are an ethical, sustainable business, feel free to reach out.
-
How did you get the effect in a specific image? Do you use AI?
Short answer: nature. My edits stay true to what was in the environment and how it made us feel. I do not add fog, light rays, or fake conditions. I do not use AI to add elements to images.
-
I want to use one of your images for my personal or commercial use.
This is decided on a case-by-case basis. In all situations concerning commercial use, a licensing agreement must be arranged.
