Our bodies, planet, and lives are made of water. During this half-day photo experience, you will be reborn in this element. You will connect with people with similar interests in the beautiful and fantastical, tackle a unique and fun challenge, and come away with one-of-a-kind images.

This experience will combine elements of a photoshoot, a modelling workshop, and a playful exploration. With a small handful of participants, everyone will get the chance to submerge themselves in a heated, film studio quality underwater set. Bring dresses, props, and a sense of wonder and creativity while the A Quiet Wild team, Wendy and Karl, coach and shoot you in this incredible setting. 

We will start with a safety briefing and a narrated in-tank posing demo from Wendy. Afterwards, each participant will have their first 15-minute photo session in the water. You will review your images with Karl, who will provide further support with posing, before re-entering the water for your second 15-20 minute photo session.

After you return home, you will choose 7 powerful, magical images shot by Wendy to keep from your photoshoot. These photos will be your essence to treasure forever, in fine-art form.

Venue: Under the Water Media

Several years of dreaming and planning have led to finding the perfect setting for the ultimate photoshoot for the mermaids, selkies and undines out there.

Many underwater venues are too small for the ocean look. However, at 5.5m x 5m x 3m deep, this one is large enough to appear to be the sea. You can swim, float, fly, and dance weightless without space constraints. Unlike the sea, it is heated to a comfortable 34 celsius, features underwater safety platforms, and a safety team including a diver on-hand. Even if you are not a strong swimmer (Wendy is not either), we will help you have a comfortable, successful shoot.

Photos are taken in as quick as 10 second periods between breaths, so long breath holds are not necessary. You don't need to be a freediver or real mermaid.

Note that the images on this page were shot at a different, smaller tank (TankSpace). Your images will have the possibility of looking more like the blank expanse of the ocean.
